Anorexia
What’s the point! Those who are anorexic is it to make them feel better about themselves, or is it to kill them self? Anorexia is a disorder where the body is refusing to eat, and it is lowering the body’s weight. Anorexia usually starts during the pubic days of a young person’s life. Most people who are anorexic lose weight by restricting the amount of food there eating, when you’re hungry you don’t eat, and when your full you eat. Anorexics start out by limiting the fatty, sugary, and caloric foods.
Some methods of weight loss are: vomiting, laxative abuse, diuretic, abuse, insulin abuse, chew- spitting, and excessive exercise. If an anorexic gains weight they feel they have to lose twice the amount they gained. If Anorexia is left untreated, it can lead up to death. When a person is anorexic the weight loss is usually 15% or more under their recommended weight. When a person is anorexic they are usually pretty thin, but they convince themselves that their fat, so the conclusion is they lose weight.
I personally believe/think that anorexia is really sad. People are beautiful the way God made them. Trying to lose weight because you’re over weight, is one thing but losing weight because your already thin enough is another thing. I understand being healthy by eating fruits, vegetables, and getting a daily exercise, but don’t overdo the exercise, fruits or vegetables.
Here are some symptoms of anorexia. loss of at least 3 periods for a girl, refusing to eat in public, anxiety, weakness, brittle skin, shortness of breath, obsessive about calorie intake, extreme weight loss, thin appearance, abnormal experiences, fatigue, dizziness or fainting, brittle nails, hair thins out, constipation, dry skin, intolerance cold, low blood pressure, dehydration, and osteoporosis.
Complications in anorexia are death, or the person can’t stop being anorexic. There are no stages. The only stages are eating less, and watching your diet more carefully. Causes of anorexia, there isn’t just one cause there are many, here are some causes that I found. Cultural pressure, psychological issues, family environment, genetic factors, life transition, and perpetuating factors.
The treatments for anorexia are a group home, medication, regular eating, all the treatment depends on the persons age, the length of time a person has had anorexia, medical condition, and the symptoms.
Some prevention to anorexia is love how you look, have a healthy relationship with food, stay active, get involved in activities (such as art classes), get guidance in your diet, and be realistic (those who are in magazines are half the time fake, meaning they use drugs and exercise to much).
Some interesting cases about anorexia is Lindsey Lohan, Mary Kate Olsen, and Anne Hathaway all had anorexia; I have a friend she used to be anorexic and bulimic.
As you can tell from reading this paper, anorexia can be really dangerous and deadly. You should learn to love the way you look.
